A story about taking on a journey of self discovery and embrace your true self.
This is a fantasy and abstract animation short film made by me and my teammate Andy. I choose this piece to do the case study. This is a story about self-discovery. The protagonist is a small candle, with the flame on its head representing its life force. The story begins with the small candle waking up in an unfamiliar virtual world. By bravely jumping into the unknown, it experiences different scenes and worlds, ultimately finding the protagonist’s own meteor. The story is open end story which allows everyone to think and resonate in a way that they feel is right. The target audience of this animation short film will be anyone that has being through or is having their self-exploration journey.
There is no constraints on the style and topic, it’s a story solely created by myself and we have to finish this animation short film in half trimester. In this animation project I'm being chosen by our teacher as the team lead, is in charging of write the script of the story, 2d character(the shadow), 3d character(the candlelight character), three backgrounds when the character fall (the forest, the cityscape, the electrical world). Andy is in charging of the 3d environments, the first environment (grid environment) and the last environments (the walking path and the grassland) .
